Turn your phone on by pressing the home button on the bottom of your phone

Tap Voice Memos to open the app

Tap the red record button in the middle of your screen to record a voice memo

Tap the record button again, which now appears as a red square, to stop recording

If you minimize the app, a red bar will appear at the top of your screen, notifying you that you are still working on a recording

Tap the red bar to return to the voice memos app

To listen to the recording, tap the Play (or triangle) icon to the left of the record button

To turn the phone's speaker on or off, tap the speaker icon in the top right corner of your screen

If the speaker is off, the audio will only play through the small speaker at the top of your phone, as if you were on a phone call.

Type in a title for the recording, or leave it as the default "New Recording"
